Manual for Preventing the Spread of Infectious Diseases in Face-to-Face Teaching (for faculty)
From the fall semester of 2020, classes at Hosei University will be conducted according to the action level of the Action Policy on New Coronavirus Infections.
This manual summarizes the points that teachers should pay attention to from the viewpoint of conducting face-to-face classes. We hope you will find it useful.
We will also send the same manual to students in order to prevent the spread of infection.
(1) Avoid unnecessary outings and crowded places on a daily basis.
(2) Please make it a habit to take your temperature every morning and check your physical condition daily.
(3) Wear a mask on campus except in the following cases
In physical education classes, etc., when there is a risk of heat stroke, etc., or when instructed to do so by a faculty member.
When there is enough distance between people outdoors (2 meters or more as a rule of thumb).
When not conversing outdoors *When conversing outside the building, please wear a mask.
(4) Wash your hands and cough thoroughly.

If equipment or utensils are shared, disinfect them before and after each activity.
Keep group work small.
Face shields for teachers are available for loan in the faculty room and the instructor's waiting room. The number of face shields is limited, so please use them when you need to watch the teacher's mouth movements, such as when teaching a class for the hearing impaired.
Please have the student ID numbers and names of the students attending the course so that we can track down any infected students (we may ask you to provide this information).
The lecturers' waiting rooms and professor's rooms are equipped with sterilizing spray for disinfection of microphones, audio-visual equipment, and other equipment. Please use them before and after using the equipment.
If you are using a classroom with windows that can be opened or closed for ventilation, the windows are generally open all the time, but please close them when weather conditions permit.
