Sports health studies" is an academic discipline that aims to enrich and develop human society from the aspect of "sports" with "being healthy" as its fundamental goal. In order to pursue "Sports and Health Studies," the Graduate School of Sports and Health Studies focuses on three important areas: "Sports Coaching," "Sports Management," and "Health Promotion.
Sports" should be constantly created and developed by the wisdom of human beings. Therefore, in Sports Coaching, students will scientifically elucidate sports in order to improve performance, and will also consider how sports coaching and education should be conducted to promote human growth. In Sports Management, students scientifically analyze social factors (politics, economics, industry, etc.) that influence sports, and study the principles and methods for sound "management" of sports. Health Promotion" studies how to promote people's health and wellness throughout their lives.
All three of these areas are essential components in the pursuit of individual and societal health centered on sports, and the Graduate School of Sports and Health Studies will promote research in these areas from a comprehensive perspective.
