Yui Kishimoto, a master's student in Major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering received the Student Paper Award at the 2023 RISP International Workshop on Nonlinear Circuits, Communications and Signal Processing. She received the award at the 2023 RISP International Workshop on Nonlinear Circuits, Communications and Signal Processing.

Cochlear implants are the most widespread neuroprosthetic devices (artificial organs) used to restore hearing to deaf patients. In this research, we proposed a new electronic circuit that can reproduce the nonlinear speech signal processing of the human auditory system. The results of this research can contribute to the design of cochlear implants that provide more natural hearing compared to conventional cochlear implants.
This research can contribute to the development of medical engineering in the super-aging society that Japan will face in the future.
