Ms. Yuna Tamamura, a first-year student of the Master's Program in Major in Intercultural CommunicationGraduate School of Intercultural Communication of Graduate School of Intercultural Communication, received the Best Paper Award at the 1st International Development Essay Contest hosted by the Japan Society for International Development. The Japan Society for International Development (JSID) is an organization of 1,000 development experts and development specialists.
The Japan Society for International Development is an interdisciplinary academic society with a membership of over 1,600 researchers and practitioners.
A member of the jury commented, "This contest is highly regarded as an attempt to look at the limits of the system of guidelines in Japan's ODA, and it is also significant in that it provides a glimpse into the global power structure. The essay was highly praised for its ability to appropriately guide the reader to the context in which the case studies are to be placed, and for its solid argumentation that corresponds to the arguments and views presented.
