International Student Writing Support Desk

The International Student Writing Support Desk is primarily intended for international students enrolled in the university’s graduate programs. It provides guidance on Japanese language expression for course assignments and degree theses (master’s theses and doctoral dissertations), with the aim of further enhancing educational and research support for international students and others.
Starting in September 2025, we have expanded the eligibility criteria for students to receive guidance. Please refer to the information below or the “User Guide” for details.

The Tutor Program primarily involves pre-designated senior students (tutors) from the same graduate school providing junior students with advice on research and academic studies (such as support with writing reports) as well as guidance on adapting to graduate school life.
On the other hand, the “International Student Writing Support Desk” provides guidance specifically focused on Japanese language expression for course assignments and degree theses (master’s theses and doctoral dissertations). As before, tutors will continue to provide advice on subject-specific learning and study methods.
(Since guidance on Japanese expression focuses primarily on course assignments and degree theses, we do not provide proofreading or advice on Japanese expression for other personal documents, guidance on everyday conversation, or Japanese translation services.)

1. Guidance on Japanese language expression when writing degree application theses (master's thesis, doctoral dissertation)
2. Guidance on Japanese language expression in class reports, etc.
3. (For international undergraduate students enrolled at this university only) Japanese proofreading of the “Research Proposal,” which is part of the entrance examination application materials

• This program provides guidance on Japanese language expression and does not provide guidance on research content.

For your convenience, we will be revising the as follows.

• Please submit your reservation request through the reservation system by the day before your scheduled use, as usual.

International students* in graduate schools (excluding professional graduate schools) who

• Students enrolled in master's programs and doctoral programs (excluding those on leave of absence)
• Trainees (including commissioned trainees and special trainees), research students, and research fellows
• Professional Graduate Students
• International students who are enrolled in our faculty and plan to take the entrance examination for our graduate school
  
• Credited Auditors are not eligible.
• International students include those who are not on a college student visa.
• Japanese students are also eligible under special circumstances. Please inquire.

• The above schedule will be updated as needed.
• One 100-minute university class session is divided into two, and each student will receive 50 minutes of instruction per session.
• (Face-to-face instruction) Reports, etc. for which you would like to receive instruction 2 copies Please print them out on paper and bring them with you. Reservations can be made on the day of use.
• (Manuscript Review) Please make a reservation by the day before your scheduled use and submit your manuscript file via the designated form by 9:00 AM on the day of use.

At the International Student Writing Support Desk, we will correct your Japanese writing.
Please feel free to use this service if you need correction of your papers, reports, class resumes, and so on.
I will improve your writing so that it will be easier for readers to understand.

Reservation system will be used. Students who wish to use this system are requested to follow the procedures below.

• ID and password are required to log in to the reservation system.
