Outline of International Student Writing Support Desk

The International Student Writing Support Desk provides guidance on Japanese language expression in writing in-class assignments and degree application theses (master's theses and doctoral dissertations ) for international students in master's programs, doctoral programs, trainees, research students, research fellows, etc., with the aim of further enhancing educational and research support for international students. The "Graduate Student Tutoring System" is a system for tutoring graduate students.

  • The number of eligible students (those who can receive instruction) has been expanded from September 2025.
For details, please refer to the following contents and usage guide.

What is the difference from a tutor? What are the features of the system?

In the "Graduate Student Tutor System," pre-designated senior students (tutors) mainly from the same graduate school provide research and study advice (e.g., assistance in writing reports) to junior students, as well as advice on adjusting to graduate school life.
On the other hand, the "International Student Writing Support Desk" provides specialized guidance on Japanese language expression for in-class assignments and degree theses (master's theses and doctoral dissertations). Tutors will continue to provide advice on study in specialized fields and consultation on study methods.
(Since the tutoring in Japanese-language expression is mainly for in-class assignments and writing dissertations for degree applications, the tutors do not provide advice on Japanese-language expression for other private documents, guidance on daily conversation, or Japanese-language translations.)

What can be consulted

  1. Guidance on Japanese language expression when writing degree application theses (master's thesis, doctoral dissertation)
  2. Guidance on Japanese language expression in class reports, etc.
  3. (Only for international students enrolled in the undergraduate program) Correction of the "Research Plan," which is an application document for the entrance examination, in Japanese (from September 2025).
  • This program provides guidance on Japanese language expression and does not provide guidance on research content.
