How to Apply for a License

Batch application

TMU collects and examines applications for licenses on a university-by-university basis, and awards licenses in batches. The subjects eligible for batch application are as follows.

  1. Have already obtained a Type 1 license for junior high school or high school, and expect to fulfill the requirements for a full-time license for junior high school or high school in March of the year of application for the educational staff license.
  2. Those who have not yet obtained a junior high school or high school Type 1 license and expect to fulfill the acquisition requirements for a junior high school or high school Type 1 license (limited to those who are currently enrolled in undergraduate courses at the university) or both a Type 1 license and a special training license in March of the year of application for an educational officer's license.

However, due to the transition to electronic application since 2003, there are some cases where batch applications cannot be submitted.

Applications are accepted from early to mid-July each year. Details will be posted on the Web bulletin board after mid-June.

Lump-sum applications cannot be submitted at other times of the year.

Individual Application

Applicants who are not eligible for a batch application must apply individually.
Applications should be submitted to the Board of Education of the prefecture in which the applicant resides.
For details, please contact the Board of Education of the prefecture in which you reside.
