Using Photoshop, this ukiyoe-style work depicts a high school girl wearing a kimono.
Gaps and discomfort create interest. In creating this work, I thought it would be interesting if "old-fashioned Ukiyoe" and "modern high school girls" were combined. In creating this work, I put special emphasis on the expression of colors and lines, and finished it so that the impression of old-fashioned style would be the first impression.
I used Photoshop to draw this work. I used blurring and other techniques to express a sense of dirt in the background, and I created gradations on the kimono by changing the brush. In addition, I created an old-fashioned atmosphere by using filters to change the exposure, saturation, and other color tones.
The idea of depicting contemporary high school students in an Edo period ukiyoe style is unique. It seems to me that the reference was made to each of the ukiyoe artist Hishikawa Shigenobu's ukiyoe of the early Edo period (1603-1868). I think the overall use of colors, the facial expressions of the figures, and the use of strokes in the soft tones are not bad. I hope you will use this award as an opportunity to try new expressions.
