7th Overall in the 99th Hakone Ekiden, Earns Right to be Seeded for the Next Race

At the 99th Tokyo-Hakone University Ekiden (Hakone Ekiden) held on January 2 (Mon.) and 3 (Tue.), the University's track and field team finished 7th overall, earning the right to be seeded for the next round for the second consecutive year. Naoki Munakata (3rd year, Faculty of Social Sciences) won the sectional prize in the 8th section of the return leg.

We would like to thank the many people who cheered us on during the two days of the competition, including alumni, parents, supporters, current students, and people living near the course. We would like to thank you again.

We plan to publish a commentary article (review of this competition, future aspirations, etc.) from Mr. Tomoo Tsubota, Director of the Track and Field Department's Ekiden Team, at a later date.
