Implementation report by KYOPRO student staff

On December 5, Hosei University's Extracurricular Education Program "Let's Learn and Make Perfume! Perfume Experience Class" was held at Hosei University on December 5.
The purpose of this project was to provide an opportunity for the students to learn about appropriate fragrances, ingredients, and their effects according to their daily needs (to relax, concentrate, change mood, etc.), to gain a deeper understanding of perfumes, and to learn how to choose and use perfumes to enrich their lives.

The lecturer was Ms. Misawa, Trustee member of the Association Française de Perfumery and president of the LPP Japan Fragrance Design Association. Ms. Misawa travels abroad in search of the best ingredients, creates perfumes, runs perfume courses, and holds seminars and events at companies, governments, and universities.

This project was conducted face-to-face in the 523-526 Short-term Conference Room on the 5th floor of the Sotobori Building, Ichigaya Campus, Hosei University.

The program included a lecture by Mr. Misawa, a Q&A session between the participating students and Mr. Misawa, and the actual creation of perfumes by the participating students.
First, Mr. Misawa gave a lecture on the types of perfumes, how to choose the right one, how to use it properly, and its harmful effects. Since students do not usually have the opportunity to learn about perfumes in detail, this lecture was very interesting for many of the participating students. All students listened to the lecture attentively. The Q&A session after the lecture was very meaningful for the students, as they asked many questions.
Next, based on the content of the lecture, the students made perfumes under the guidance of Mr. Misawa. First, the students selected one perfume as a base from among 10 types of perfumes, and then chose 5 types of perfumes as accent fragrances and mixed them together.
Then, they chose and mixed the accent fragrances from five different fragrances. It was impressive to see how the participants worked in groups, discussing and thinking about which fragrance they preferred and which would suit them best.

Before participating in this project, there were many people who were interested in perfume but had concerns such as "I don't know how to choose and use perfume correctly" or "I am worried that I will offend people around me.

We hope that this project will help people to acquire the correct knowledge of perfume and to enjoy perfume in their daily lives.
