Implementation report by KYOPRO student staff

On December 3, Hosei University's extracurricular education program "What is Hair Donation? 〜Be yourself and live like you are" was held at Hosei University on December 3. The purpose of this program was to provide students with correct knowledge about hair donation and an opportunity to rethink about people in need of wigs and diverse society.

Mr. Kiichi Watanabe, Trustee of the NPO "Japan Hair Donation & Charity" was invited as a lecturer. The program began with a lecture by Mr. Watanabe, which was followed by group discussions among students and a question-and-answer session between the students and Mr. Watanabe.

During the lecture, Mr. Watanabe explained the process of wig production and preservation based on the questions asked in the questionnaire. The lecturer also talked about how he started his current activities and his various involvement with Hair Donation.

The content of the lectures, which seemed to speak to the students, was all very interesting, and it was impressive that the students asked a lot of questions. Since this was the first time in a while that we were able to conduct the program face-to-face, we also offered a wig experience in the program with the cooperation of Aderans Co.

In fact, we received comments from students that the wig experience at the beginning of the program made it easier for everyone to talk.

Finally, a group discussion was held based on the lecture content.

This time, the topic was divided into three parts, and as the third topic, the students discussed "what we can do for those who need wigs. Even though the content of the lecture was more advanced than just hair donation, all groups had lively discussions, and it seemed that each individual was able to make full use of what they had learned from the lecture.

We also received feedback from Mr. Watanabe during the group discussion. Mr. Watanabe, who is a pioneer in hair donation in Japan and is active in the actual field, gave a very informative talk, and all the students seemed to be very interested in what he had to say.

Thanks to the cooperation of many people, we were able to achieve the goal of this project, which was to "rethink diverse societies through hair donation.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who cooperated in this project.

We will be very happy if this project is the first step for students to enjoy diversity.

As there is no absolute answer to the question of "diversity," I am sure that there are things that you have learned from this project, and on the contrary, there are new questions that have arisen. We hope that everyone will continue to cherish opportunities to actively share their opinions, not only in this project, but in the future as well.
