Aoba Fujino playing for Tokyo Verdy.
The Japan Women's World Cup 2023 Soccer Team for Australia and New Zealand was announced on June 13, and TUFS students Aoba Fujino ( Faculty of Sports and Health Studies ) and Hinata Miyazawa ( Faculty of Sports and Health Studies Class of 2021) were selected for the team.
Aoba Fujino is currently a member of Nittele Tokyo Verdi Bereza, and was selected as one of the WE League's Best Eleven for the 2022-2023 season while enrolled in the Faculty of Sports and Health Studies.
Hinata Miyazawa has also been balancing her studies and team activities since she was a student, and is currently a member of Mynavi Sendai Ladies, where she is a mainstay.
The Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 will start on July 20 (Japan time). Japan's first match in Group C will be against Zambia (July 22, 16:00 kick-off Japan time), the second match will be against Costa Rica (July 26, 14:00 kick-off Japan time), and the third match will be against Spain (July 31, 16:00 kick-off Japan time).
I sincerely wish them both the best of luck, and I hope Japan's women's national team will make a great leap forward. We hope you will join us in cheering them on.
