Athletics Team Holds Pep Rally at Tama Campus
The Track and Field Club has achieved many excellent results since its establishment, and is active at the top level of the university in both the short and long distance events, including the All-Japan Intercollegiate Athletic Championships and the Hakone Ekiden. The team has produced numerous intercollegiate champions and boasts "80 appearances (as of 2020) in the Hakone Ekiden. 2006 was the first time the team won the return leg of the race.
In addition, many alumni are leading the Japanese track and field world, including Dai Tamesue, a two-time World Championship medalist, and Yuzo Kanemaru, a consecutive Olympian.
