Rinka Watanabe (2nd year, Faculty of Economics, TUFS), a member of the Figure Skating Club, will participate in the 2022 NHK Cup International Figure Skating Competition to be held in Sapporo, Japan, from November 18 to 20.
The NHK Cup International Figure Skating Competition is an international figure skating competition and is one of the figure skating competitions that make up the year-long ISU Grand Prix Series. Contestants must meet strict requirements, such as the previous season's top World Champion, the top ISU ranking, and the top season's best score, and it is one of the most prestigious figure skating competitions held around the world. Athletes who achieve excellent results in the six ISU Grand Prix Series, including this competition, will earn the right to compete in the ISU Grand Prix Final.
Watanabe has been on a roll since entering the University in the spring of 2021, finishing 6th at the All-Japan Championships that year and representing Japan at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. In September, she won the Challenger Series in Lombardy, beating the world champion, Kaori Sakamoto.
The tournament is usually broadcast live on NHK/NHK BS1/NHK BS8K. (Not announced for this year).

We are pleased to announce that we will also be invited to the Grand Prix Series Round 2 "Skate Canada 2022" to be held in Mississauga, Canada on October 28~30!
The broadcast schedule for this year's event has not yet been announced, but until last year, the event was broadcast live on TV Asahi. Please keep your eyes on this event as well.
