Yuki Takamatsu, a first-year student in Faculty of Sports and Health Studies, placed second in the adult women's dressage competition and fifth in the adult women's free dressage competition at the Burning Emotions Kagoshima National Athletic Meet held from October 11 to 15, 2023.
Ms. Takamatsu trained at the Irish Allan Riding School and is a member of the "Well-being Horse Circle," which works with the Equestrian Sports Club at the university, focusing on miniature horses with her friends.
The following is a comment from Mr. Takamatsu.
This year was the first time for me to compete in the same event as the professionals. This time, I participated with the word "challenge" in mind, and I am happy to see the results of the practice I have continued for the past eight years. Dressage is a sport in which people and horses compete as one. I am grateful to my horse, Hermes, for giving his all and working so hard."
