On October 22, 2012, in Coole, Switzerland, Ryaku Iwabuchi (3rd year, Faculty of Sports and Health Studies) won the Snowboard Big Air event, the opening round of this season's World Cup competition.
Iwabuchi made a big move, scoring 180.75 points, his 8th win in total since last December.
We received a valuable comment from Iwabuchi that gives us a glimpse of what it was like for him at the time.
I was a bit nervous going into the World Cup, as it was my first competition after the Olympics and after my injury, and I was a bit scared to face the competition. The tension of competing for the first time in a long time was not bad, and I was able to concentrate on my skiing more than I had expected. I am happy to have won the competition despite the pressure I was under. I am happy that I was able to get off to a good start this season, and at the same time, I will continue to work hard and not let up as the competitions will continue. Thank you for your support.
Please keep an eye on Iwabuchi's future activities.
