6th Overall in 100th Hakone Ekiden, Earns Right to be Seeded for Next Race

At the 100th Tokyo-Hakone University Ekiden (Hakone Ekiden) held on January 2 and 3, the University's Track and Field Team finished 6th in the overall standings, earning the right to be seeded for the next round for the third consecutive year. Kazuma Takeda (3rd year, Faculty of Social Sciences) won the sectional award in the 6th section of the return leg. This was the first time in 77 years that a member of the University's athletics team won a sectional award in the 6th section.
We would like to thank the many people who cheered us on during the two days of the competition, including alumni, parents, supporters, current students, and people living near the course. We would like to thank you again.
