Environmental Re・ DesignPJ Workshop Poster Hosei University, under the leadership of President Yuko Tanaka, is working on a long-term vision (HOSEI2030) looking ahead to 2030, the 150th anniversary of its founding.

Nearly 40 years have passed since the Tama Campus was established in 1984, and some parts of the campus are no longer in step with the changing times, and some areas are noticeably damaged. As part of the Tama future planning process, we have launched the "Environmental Re-Design Project" to re-design and renovate the Tama Campus into a place befitting a university that will pioneer the coming era.

The project will be supervised by architect Tetsuo Kobori, who is also a professor at the University's Faculty of Engineering and Design. Professor Kobori is an alumnus of Umekogakuin University, and is the first architect in history to win the "Architectural Institute of Japan Award" and the "JIA Japan Architecture Grand Prize" in the same year (2017), two major architectural awards in Japan. He also designed "The Learning Station CROSSLIGHT" (to be completed in 2019) for Umeko Gakuin University, which has been highly acclaimed.

The "Environmental Re-Design Project" will be planned based on the voices of those who study and work at the Tama Campus. As a first step, Professor Kobori will lead a series of workshops with facilitator Nobuyuki Ueda (Professor Emeritus, Doshisha University).

This is a very stimulating and exciting workshop.
We hope you will join us and join us to think about the future of Tama Campus. What kind of place will it be? Please join us and share your ideas and thoughts with us.
