Ryoma Aoki, a graduate of the Department of Chemical Science and Technology, has been selected to represent Japan in the men's 3,000m steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics!

Ryoma Aoki placed third in the Japan Athletics Championships held on Saturday, June 26, and has been selected to represent Japan in the Tokyo Olympics.
Mr. Aoki was assigned to run the 5th section of the Hakone Ekiden for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019, and won a sectional prize in 2018.
In Department of Chemical Science and Technology he belongs to the Materials Chemistry Laboratory (Prof. Kazuyuki Takai), and graduated in 2020 after balancing his research and athletic activities.
We wish him the best of luck at the Tokyo Olympics.
