Haito Yabuki, a senior in the Department of Chemical Science and Technology istry and Department of Chemical Science and Technology, and others received the Excellence Award at the 26th Student Presentation Meeting of the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan, held online on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
The awarded lecture, "Effect of Particle Material on Aggregation Phenomena of Fine Particles in Water by DC Electric Field," elucidated the mechanism by which some fine particles suspended in water aggregate (clump together) and others do not when a DC electric field is applied to them.
This research provides important insights into how to develop an efficient method for concentrating fine particles suspended in water and how to reuse the particles collected after concentration.
The research group consists of Kaito Yabuki (4th year, Department of Chemical Science and Technology ), Kazuteru Koike (2nd year, Master of Major in Applied Chemistry ), Kenta Kitamura, Teaching Assistant, and Professor Takamasa Mori.
Mr. Yabuki belongs to the Environmental Powder Engineering Laboratory (Prof. Takamasa Mori).
