One-Day Science College in Hosei Koganei Campus" for high school students will be held in 2023.

We will hold a 1-Day hands-on class of experiments and practical training for high school students (including former graduates). This is an opportunity for you to experience the cutting edge of science and technology through experiments, practical training, and lectures.

• In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, a lottery will be held ( *Not on a first-come, first-served basis ).

  • Due to the large number of applicants, a lottery will be held every year. We appreciate your understanding.
  • On the other hand, every year we receive a cancellation notice after "winning" and just before the event, so please make sure to apply with your schedule secured.

• All applicants will be notified of the application results by e-mail by Wednesday, July 19.

• Please be careful not to enter your e-mail address incorrectly, as you will be notified of the result of your application by e-mail.

• The lectures, experiments, and practical training sessions may be photographed and published on our website. Please understand this beforehand.

• Other details, such as the meeting place on the day of the event, will be provided along with the application results.

6 Frequently Asked Questions

• Please note that the University cafeteria and stores will not be open on the day of the event. Therefore, please bring your own lunch.
  • There will be space for you to bring your own lunch.
  • Desks and seats are available mainly at the entrance on the 1st floor of the West Wing, the lounge on the 2nd floor of the West Wing, the cafeteria on the B1 floor of the East Wing, the multi-use hall on the 1st floor of the East Wing, and in front of classrooms on the 2nd floor of the East Wing.
• Parents and guardians are welcome to enter the university on the day of the One-Day Science event. However, please note the following before entering the building.
  • No classrooms or meeting rooms are available for parents. Parents will be asked to wait in a separate area, such as a hall with desks, etc. Please be aware of this.
  • Parents are not allowed to attend One-Day Science events. Please note that parents are not allowed to attend One-Day Science events.
  • There is no problem for visitors to tour the campus. Please let the security guard at the main gate or the zelkova gate know that you would like to visit the campus, and he/she will give you a campus map.
  • If you would like to know more about the faculties and departments, please visit the Student Affairs Section of the Koganei Administrative Office on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building, where you will receive a " University Guide " and other materials.

• Please note that Open Campus and One-Day Science are completely different events.
  • At the Open Campus, faculty members, students, and staff will work together to provide general explanations of faculties, departments, etc., introductions to the research of laboratories, and individual consultations. In other words, this event will introduce the university to high school students (including prospective students) or their parents.
  • On the other hand, One-Day Science will be an opportunity for high school students to experience the cutting edge of science and technology in science departments through experiments, practical training, and lectures by university faculty members as a 1-Day hands-on class of experiments and practical training. For this reason, explanations of faculties, departments, etc. and laboratory experiences will not be provided at One-Day Science.
