May 16, 2026 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture: "Fundamentals of City Planning Research: Recommendations for Regional Development" in commemoration of the opening of the Graduate School Institute of Regional Development Certificate Program starting in September 2026
 This lecture will explain what "community development" is and what it means to "research community development" in an easy-to-understand manner, using case examples. In addition, the lecture will also explain the various elements necessary to create a community and the main points of how to write papers, reports, and research plans on community development.

November 8, 2025 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "Transboundary Learning and Recurrent Education" (Commemorative lecture for the establishment of the Institute of Regional Development, Hosei University Graduate School in April 2025 )

 Dr. ISHIYAMA Nobutaka, a leading expert on cross-border learning in Japan, will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of cross-border learning and recurrent education. Cross-border learning has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years. The target of cross-border learning covers all ages. In other words, cross-border learning is lifelong learning. In other words, cross-border learning is closely related to recurrent education. In this course, we will clarify the characteristics and significance of cross-border learning and clarify the similarities with recurrent education. In addition, we will discuss the challenges and future direction of cross-border learning and recurrent education.

Saturday, October 4, 2025 (1st)/Saturday, October 11, 2025 (2nd)/Saturday, October 25, 2025 (3rd) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "Step Up Course for Entrepreneurs provided by Hosei Professional Association".
 In the first and second sessions, as a sequel and expansion of the previous "Basic Management Course for Businesspersons Aiming to Start a Business," we will discuss the "utilization of subsidies and grants" for business expansion after opening a business, tax-related considerations for establishing a business, and IPO (Initial Public Offering) and M&A for stepping up business development. The third session was a panel discussion entitled "Business Startups. In the third session, a panel discussion was held on "What each profession can do to support startups, new businesses, and business expansion and development (discussing the appeal of each profession). The coordinator was Yasuyuki Yoshida (Gyosei Lawyer Orange Association), and the panelists were experts from the following professional associations, which were introduced in an interactive manner: the Certified Public Accountant Lawyers Association, Hosei Bar Association, Hosei Accountants Association, Real Estate Appraisers Orange Association, Gyosei Lawyer Orange Association, Hosei Judicial Scrivener Association, and Small and Medium Enterprise Consultants Orange Association.

June 14, 2025 (Sat) Office of Recurrent Education Open Lecture "Hosei University Graduate School Institute of Regional Development Commemorating its Founding in April 2025, Spring Semester Open Lecture "The Pleasure of Content Tourism Literature Walk: Touring Uchida Hyakken"".

 A public lecture was held at Hosei University to introduce the enjoyment of literary strolls as content tourism, tracing the footsteps of Uchida Hyakken from his birthplace in Okayama, where he was a German teacher in the preliminary department from 1920 to 1934, to his death after he moved to Tokyo.

March 29, 2025 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "The Game Moves Where You Cannot See It" (SSI Cooperative Project, Hosei University Certificate Program, Health and Sports provided by Hosei University)

The first part of the lecture was given by Mr. Hiroshi YAMAMOTO, Professor Emeritus of Hosei University and former NHK announcer, and the second part was given by Mr. YAMAMOTO and Hosei University Sports Science Institute faculty members (Mr. Shigeru ASAHINA Shigeru, Professor of Faculty of Sustainability Studies, Ms. Kai YAMADA, Professor of Faculty of International Cultural Studies, and Ms. Kai YAMADA, Professor of Faculty of Health and Sports Science). Professor Shigeru Asahina, Faculty of Intercultural Communication; Professor Fumi Nakazawa, Faculty of Intercultural Communication; Professor YAMADA Kai, Faculty of Economics; and Professor IZUMI Shigeki, Faculty of Sports and Health Studies).

October 12, 2024 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "Human Resource Utilization Strategies in an Era of Declining Labor Force" (provided by Hosei University Certificate Program, MBA for Managers)

YAMADA Hisashi (Professor, Graduate School of Innovation Management) gave a public lecture on how companies should respond to the shortage of human resources, with the keywords "diversity" and "recurrent" in mind. In addition, the coordinator of the program introduced the "MBA Course Certificate Program for Managers" offered by the Professional Graduate School of Innovation Management, Graduate School of Innovation Management, Hosei University Business School.

 With the cooperation of the Hosei Shigyo Kai, a series of three lectures will be given on how to utilize and practice the components of business - people, goods, money, and information - by professionals who are graduates of this university on each of the themes to be addressed.

January 20, 2024 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "How to Read and Make Maps of Digital Society" (Commemorative lecture for the opening of the Certificate Program of Hosei University School of Correspondence Education starting in April 2024)

In this lecture, he talked about how to read and make maps in the digital society, virtual maps, mental maps, and map literacy required of people today. In addition, the program coordinator from the Department of Geography, Faculty of Letters, Hosei University, introduced the School of Correspondence Education's "Map Power" Skill Development Certificate Program for the Digital Age," which will begin in April 2024.

July 22, 2023 (Sat) Recurrent Education Office Open Lecture "Electronic Contracts and Electronic Signatures" (provided by Hosei University Certificate Program in Information Science, Data Science and AI)

The speed of the spread of electronic contracts has been spurred by the government's DX promotion measures and the Corona Disaster that made face-to-face meetings difficult. We introduced the legal validity and scope of use of electronic contracts, electronic signatures as an electronic measure to replace seals, and discussed the intricacies of their use, including the use of different electronic signature methods. In addition, the Dean of the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences at Hosei University introduced the Certificate Program in Computer Science, Data Science, and AI.

Recurrent Education Office, Open Lecture, Second Semester Fall (October) "Legal Education for Citizens 'Basic Knowledge of Inheritance Issues' by the Association of Lawyers for Law and Politics" (Japanese only)
 In cooperation with the Hosei Shigyo Kai, a series of six lectures entitled "The Hosei Shigyo Kai's Legal Education Course for Citizens 'Basic Knowledge of Inheritance Issues'" was held in the spring semester (first half of the course started in June) and the fall semester (second half of the course started in October). Hosei University alumni professionals (lawyers, judicial scriveners, administrative scriveners, real estate appraisers, certified tax accountants, and small and medium-sized enterprise diagnosticians) provided explanations from various fields including law, administration, tax, and management.

 Hosei University, which is strong in career education, hosted a discussion event on "Crossing Borders" and "Unlearning," which are currently the focus of attention, with TAKADA Asako, Director of the Office of Recurrent Education at Hosei University (Professor, Graduate School of Innovation Management) and NAGAOKA Takeru, Director of the Career Center (Professor, Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration).

  Recurrent Education Office sponsored open lecture "Buying, Selling, Leasing, Inheritance, Effective Utilization, and Fair Market Value Accounting - Let's learn about your own, your company's, and your company's important asset, real estate. No fear, no regrets if you know the basics."

 Practice-oriented lecture by Hosei University Real Estate Appraiser Orange Law Association on basic knowledge useful for solving all kinds of real estate issues, inheritance, sales and purchase, investment, CRE strategies, and more. Four real estate appraisers, all of whom are graduates of Hosei University and each have experience in different fields, gave lectures with their real-life experiences.

March 26, 2022 (Sat) Public Lecture hosted by Recurrent Education Office "Relearning for Working People in the Age of Chaos: Weapons to Protect Yourself" nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp

 Against the backdrop of a declining working-age population and the growing need for human resources to drive "Society 5.0," attention is increasingly focusing on the need for working adults to relearn. In addition, more than 500,000 working adults are studying at universities and other institutions, and the use of online courses is further improving the environment in which people can study without having to choose time and place. This lecture aims to provide an opportunity for participants to consider what they need to relearn and how to do so through lectures and trilogies.
