Program Overview

Hosei University has established the Institute of Sports Science (SSI) to foster human resources who will lead an advanced sports culture based on a scientific and cultural understanding of sports. This program is designed to return to society the knowledge and information on sports science and health science accumulated there.
Through the study of sports science and health science, students will gain an understanding of the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases and the implementation of moderate exercise and sports, aiming for lifelong health. The program also encourages the promotion of sports in schools and communities by providing knowledge based on scientific theory to those who aim to become sports leaders in elementary, junior high, and high schools, including club activity instructors.

Registration fee: 10,000 yen, course fee: 98,000 yen

Skills and Abilities Acquired through the Course

Knowledge of the body's mechanisms and how the body works during exercise
Knowledge of proper diet, rest, and health methods to improve physical condition
Knowledge of how to provide sports coaching, such as psychological enhancement and appropriate training methods.
Knowledge of the relationship between sports and business, society, and culture
Ability to understand the diet, exercise, rest, etc. necessary to maintain and improve health, and to make choices according to one's own physical condition.
Ability to provide safe and effective sports coaching while giving appropriate consideration to the physical and mental health of athletes.

High school graduates or those with equivalent academic ability.
