Mr. Clément Ludovic and Mr. Alan SAINT-MARC, students at the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences of Information Science and Technology (IIST), received the Student Incentive Award for their presentation at the 83rd National Convention of the Information Processing Society of Japan. The paper, "GENERATING HOMOPHONIC MUSIC WITH LSTMS DEDICATED TO MELODY AND HARMONY," proposes a method of automatic composition by neural networks that is aware of the composition process of musicians, such as developing a melody and adding harmony based on a short phrase called a motif. It is a proposal for a method of automatic composition using a neural network that is aware of the composition process of a musician.
