This year again, we were able to complete a high quality report with the support of Masaatsu Takehara, Associate Professor in charge of SCOPE (Sustainability Co-creation Programme), who has extensive experience working for both domestic and foreign companies. Here are the two teams that were selected.
Theme: RE JAPAN AS NO.1 - Aiming at the value revival of Japanese products by aggressively returning to the domestic market
Members: Sakiki Otsuka (leader, 3rd year), Nako Hara (seminar leader, 3rd year), Nene Nakamura (2nd year), Arata Tokita (2nd year)
This report focuses on the fact that rising incomes have transformed emerging Asian countries from "production bases" to "consumer markets," and argues that by providing high-quality, high-value-added products through an "aggressive return to the domestic market," Japan can regain the "Japan as NO. 1" status that once dominated the world. Japan as NO. 1" that once dominated the world.
Comments from team members
We defined "aggressive return to Japan" as a movement to create high-level added value by strengthening domestic production systems and leveraging overwhelming technological capabilities. We believed that an "aggressive return to Japan" would breathe new life into "made in Japan" and put Japanese companies on the path to revival, so we set our sights on the theme of "reviving the value of Japanese products. From the team's inception, we faced various challenges and difficulties, but we believe that the experience of overcoming these challenges together with the team members will be food for our future activities. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the professors for their careful and enthusiastic guidance, to the seminar students who worked hard together, and to the team members.

Theme: The Era of Major Infrastructure Repairs: A New Normal for Japan's Infrastructure
Members: Asayo Ota (leader, 3rd year), Shota Roki (3rd year), Ryota Onda (2nd year)
This report focuses on the aging of the infrastructure developed in the wake of the 18th Olympic Games held in Tokyo in 1964 and the challenges faced by municipalities that manage infrastructure (e.g., decrease in civil engineering staff, shrinking civil engineering expenditures), and based on interview surveys of governments and companies, proposes a preventive maintenance approach to infrastructure through the introduction of new technologies. Based on interviews with governments and companies, we proposed the concept of preventive maintenance of infrastructure through the introduction of new technologies.
Comments from team members
We focused on aging infrastructure, which is progressing at an accelerating pace, based on the idea of "What should we do to create a society in which future generations can live in peace? We then focused on the theme of "preventive infrastructure maintenance," which is the key to solving the problem of aging infrastructure. This year, many unforeseen events occurred, and we were in agony for days, but thanks to the team members, seminar students, and professors who carefully and enthusiastically guided us, we are very happy to have been selected for the award.
