Hosei University Library Digital Archive has been updated.
128 titles from the Masaoka Shiki Collection, mainly Chinese classics, paintings, and haikai materials, are newly added to the collection.

As newly released materials, you can see colorful nishiki-e (ukiyoe) such as a picture book bound with Genji-e paintings by Toyokuni, Kuniyoshi, and others.

The newest additions to the collection are Nishiki-e Collection Snow, Moon, and Flowers in the Snow" from "Nishiki-e Shu" (Call number: 721/35: MASAOKA)

Other materials with Shiki's own writings, such as the following two items, are also available for viewing.

Zenkoji Temple, Shinano-kuni: A Brief History of Zenkoji Temple " (Call number: 188/13: MASAOKA)
On the back of the door, there is an inscription by Shiki: "In June 1890, I went to Zenkoji Temple in Shinshu on my way to the temple, but was unable to obtain a copy of the enki in its entirety due to a large fire.
The book was not available in his travels, and his joy at finding it in his hometown of Matsuyama is evident.

Shinkoku Shikkai Tang " (Invoice: 923/1/1-4: MASAOKA)
Signed by Shiki on the back cover, "May 8, 1898, Kinshu shouken nite wo kumu otaku shouya shujin (*)" (May 8, 1898, Kinshu shouken nite wo kumu otaku shouya shujin).
It is believed to have been purchased during his service in the First Sino-Japanese War.
(*) Otters' bookshop owner: Another name for Masaoka Shiki.
