Hosei DNA

This exhibition introduces Kenjiro Ume (1860-1910), the first prime minister of Japan.
Ume Kenjiro (1860-1910) was a jurist who played a central role in the development of the new Meiji era legislation as a member of the Civil Code drafting committee.
The Hosei University Library Digital Archive has digitized some of Umeh Kenjiro's documents related to legislation and made them available to the public.
In addition to the materials related to Umeh Kenjiro, we will also introduce materials related to Hosei University. Please take this opportunity to learn more about the history of Hosei University through these materials.
