Mr. Koji Emura, a student of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, received the "Student Presentation Award of the Biophysical Society of Japan" for his paper entitled "Construction of conduction abnormality model by circular cardiomyocyte network The award was given to a student author who gave an excellent presentation on his paper "Construction of conduction abnormality model by circular cardiomyocyte network using agarose microfabrication technology. The awarded research demonstrated the possibility of elucidating the mechanism of arrhythmia generation by measuring the propagation direction and velocity of extracellular potentials in a circle-shaped cardiomyocyte network fabricated on a multi-electrode substrate. At this year's annual meeting, 35 students including Dr. Koji Emura received student presentation awards out of a total of 123 applicants.
