A student of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering received the Best Paper Award in Biomimetics Finalist at the 2023 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2023).

Mr. Yudai Hiramaki, a master's course student at Hosei University, received the Best Paper Award in Biomimetics Finalist at the 2023 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2023). The research is a study of the mechanisms of biological body systems.

In this research, a multi-legged robot with a flexible mechanism was developed, inspired by the body mechanisms of living organisms. Each leg of the robot is equipped with a suction cup, enabling it not only to walk on a flat surface but also to climb walls. In the future, the robot is expected to be applied to maintenance and inspection of huge infrastructures and tunnels.
