In addition to competitive research grants, there are many other research grants offered by public organizations. Please also refer to the "What's New" list from the " Announcements for Academic Personnel " on the official website of the Research and Development Center for information on those publicly offered grants.

For any of the external funds, the University will charge an indirect cost (administrative fee) if it manages the expenses (for details, please refer to Note 2 under "Application Methods (A~C)" below).

How to apply (A-C)

A. Direct application in principle: Please note that in some cases, the seal or recommendation of the head of the department, etc., is required. If you wish to apply from the R&D Center, please contact us in advance and submit your application at least one week prior to the deadline of the other party.
B. Applications from institutions (R&D centers): Please note that there is an internal deadline (even if there is no deadline posted on the website, please be sure to submit your application at least one week prior to the deadline). C. The deadline for the project is different depending on the project.
C. Please check the application guidelines, etc., as they vary depending on the project.

Note 1: In case of direct application, please inform the R&D Center of the result of acceptance or rejection.
Note 2: If the University manages the indirect expenses (administrative expenses ), it will charge 5% of the total research expenses for grants without contracts, and 10% to 30% of the total research expenses or direct expenses for contract research or grants with contracts. (For the indirect cost rate, please inquire at the Research and Development Center of your affiliation.)
Note 3: The University does not manage the expenses of research funds obtained by researchers who are not full-time faculty members of the University (The information on this page is a transcription and summary of the call for proposals, and does not imply that the University is committed to managing such funds).
Note 4: In principle, grants from private foundations, etc. are accepted as donated research funds, but there may be cases where the University is unable to manage expenses when refunds are expected at the end of the research due to the terms and conditions of the grantor. In such cases, please consult with the Research Development Center before applying.
