Hello everyone!
This is Nagai, editor-in-chief of the Public Relations Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration.
This time, we interviewed Ms. Arisu Tanaka, a third-year student in Department of Business Strategy who was the leader of the Faculty of Business AdministrationDepartment of Business Strategy Planning at the Open Campus held online at the Ichigaya Campus on August 19, 20, and 22!

1. What is the Faculty of Business Administration project all about?
We held "Individual Counseling Project" in which student staff directly answered the concerns of students preparing for entrance exams, and "Talk Show Project" in which presentations were given on topics such as study at Faculty of Business Administration, the atmosphere of the students, and studying for entrance exams. We believe that we were able to convey the attractiveness of the department and messages to prospective students that only students can understand. 2.

What made you decide to become an open campus staff member?
What made me want to become an open campus staff member was my wish to "change my shyness. I think I was able to resolve that by actually interacting face to face with visitors. In this respect, I regret that this Open Campus was held online. 3.

3. What is the appeal of being an Open Campus staff member?
The Open Campus Staff consists of all grades from 1st year to 4th year, working together toward the same goal. Therefore, the attraction is that we can make strong connections not only horizontally (with our classmates) but also vertically (with seniors and juniors). 4.

4. What, in your opinion, is the appeal of the Faculty of Business Administration Hosei University?
First of all, it is easy to learn across departmental boundaries. Even within the same department, different departments specialize in different fields of study. However, Hosei University's Faculty of Business Administration has a curriculum that allows students to study specialized subjects in other departments so that they will not be closed off to new avenues of study because of their different departments. Even if you do not have a fixed field of interest at the time of admission, I think it is a great attraction that you can choose the study that suits you from a wide range of options during your studies at the university.
Another major attraction is the large number of undergraduate students. Being exposed to a rich diversity of opinions and ideas in the numerous encounters you will have will enrich your future life.

5. Was there anything you were conscious of as a planning leader?
Creating an environment where it is easy for staff to work together. Communication is often awkward in the beginning, so I was conscious of creating opportunities for connection by talking to them and proactively preparing opportunities for interaction. 6.

6. Was there anything memorable about the online open campus, such as differences from the in-person open campus in the past years?
We had to make full use of video streaming tools, filming equipment, etc., which we did not use in previous years, so it was very difficult to coordinate and deal with problems. In addition, I remember that the talk show staff had a hard time making presentations because they could not see the visitors' faces and could not see their reactions.
On the other hand, I also felt that there were advantages of the online format. On the other hand, I also felt that there was one advantage of online presentations: we received more questions from visitors than in previous years. This time, we accepted questions in a chat format, which I think made the environment more comfortable for many people to ask questions, perhaps because they were reassured by the anonymity.

7. Would you prefer the next Open Campus to be held online or in person?
I would still prefer to hold the event in person. I think the greatest appeal of an open campus is the opportunity to actually visit the university campus and interact face-to-face with current students. This allows students to feel the atmosphere of the university, receive advice from university students who are their seniors in life, and imagine themselves in the future living campus life, which will motivate them to study for the entrance examinations. It is difficult to feel that "heat" even if you do so if the event is held online.
However, online has its own merits, and I hope that if we are able to hold face-to-face meetings, we will be able to combine the "good parts" of online and face-to-face.

As a leader of the Public Relations Committee, I was able to relate to many of the ideas and hardships that Ms. Tanaka shared with me. Also, the interview was the first time we met, but he was so cheerful and cheerful that it made me think, "Was he really shy? She answered our questions so clearly and fluently that it made us wonder if she was really shy. This is the result of the efforts made by the Open Campus staff.
This year's Open Campus swung back and forth between online and in-person sessions, but the fact that we were able to successfully complete the event was largely due to the efforts of Mr. Tanaka and all the staff. Thank you so much for your hard work. Depending on the situation at the time, we hope to be able to do next year's interview face to face.
Thank you very much for your cooperation in this interview, Mr. Tanaka!
