On Wednesday, November 23, the Tategaoka Danchi Festival was held for the first time at the Tategaoka Danchi complex near the Tama Campus as an opportunity for everyone from children to senior citizens in the complex to interact with each other.
This project was realized in response to the fact that the long-running summer festival in the shopping arcade could no longer continue due to the closure of stores and the aging of its bearers, and was organized by the Tategaoka Project (Tamabora), a student project registered with Hosei University Tama Regional Exchange Center, and the executive committee in cooperation with the neighborhood association, various facilities and nearby universities in the housing complex. The project was realized through the cooperation of the Tateigaoka Project (Tamabora), a student project registered with the Hosei University Tama Regional Exchange Center, as well as the local community association, various facilities, and neighboring universities.
This was a fulfilling project that only the students of the Tama Campus, who routinely use the area surrounding the campus as a place for learning and continue to actively interact with residents and facility residents, could have planned.
This festival was originally scheduled to be held in August, but was postponed due to the spread of the coronavirus, so it was decided to hold the Fall Festival in November. Since this was the first time to hold an autumn festival, the Tategaoka Apartment Complex Neighborhood Association, residents' groups, nursery schools, and nearby universities (Takushoku University and Hosei University) cooperated in a "hands-on" approach to the event.
The stalls included deep-fried donuts, oden, frankfurters, chocolate bananas, and a flea market, as well as Bon Odori and children's dancing.
We, the Tategaoka Project, opened a booth for "ring tossing," which was enjoyed by men and women of all ages, and more people than we had expected enjoyed it. By dividing the difficulty level by the size of the ring and the distance to throw it, some children came back to try the more difficult ones over and over again.
With the cooperation of the Sano River Project, another project within the same Tamabora, a booth for tasting and selling Sano River tea was also set up next door. Many people came to enjoy the warm tea, and this booth was also crowded with people.
Despite the rainy and cold weather, the event was a great success with 80 staff members and over 150 participants.
The event was held on the same day as the "Oyako de Sports" event, which is centered on the "Magokoro Daycare Center" located in the complex, and we felt that the synergistic effect of this collaboration was significant.
Although it is difficult to hold such a large-scale event in the Corona Disaster Area, we would like to continue to create opportunities for multi-generational fun involving the residents of the complex and the local community.
