The character was created by a marketing seminar student at Hosei University, who tried her hand at character creation solely through online activities. The resulting character, "Imoyama Hariko," portrays a life-size college student with a Corona disaster, dressed up "on" and dressed down "off" at home. The novel character is expressed by combining the elements of a sweet potato with the keywords of a sensitive and stressed hedgehog and an unrefined and boorish sweet-potato woman. The character is a realistic and true-to-life representation of a female college student, and is sure to cause a storm of sympathy among college students!
The seminar students also manage Instagram and post on it every day. (@imoyama_hariko_chan )

Background of Character Creation
This character was created from scratch by seminar students in online meetings only.
Targeting university students across the country, this activity was initiated to appeal to their true feelings and the actual situation at Corona Disaster in a unique way, and to attract sympathy. Among other things, we aimed to create a character focusing on "female university students. The motif is a "hedgehog," which is well known among female university students.
In addition, we conducted a questionnaire survey of approximately 150 female university students to find out their true feelings and realities.
The results showed that the majority of female university students have a strong difference between "on" outside and "off" at home, both in terms of personality and appearance, and that "sweet potatoes" are in fashion.
The word "imo-onna" is also used to refer to women who are unrefined and boorish.
Inspired by this, we combined the words "hedgehog" and "sweet potato" to create a character with an unprecedented impact: a sweet potato when "on" and a sweet potato when "off.
After many rounds of refinement of the rough draft, the "Imoyamahariko" was finally completed.
