Hosei University's Educational Planning Office with the Office of the President held the "Rediscovering Hometown Attractiveness Workshop: The First in a Series of Workshops on Kitsuki and Your Hometown" as part of the Student Life Support Project.
Kitsuki City in Oita Prefecture is the hometown of "Tetsu Kanamaru" and "Osamu Ito," founders of the University, and has concluded a partnership agreement with the city. This program was implemented with the full cooperation of Kitsuki City.

In the first session of the program, participants made presentations on the attractiveness of their hometowns and places of residence, using slides they had prepared in advance.
After the presentations, participants actively exchanged opinions and asked each other questions about the attractiveness of their hometowns in group talks.

In the second session of the program, Mayor Satoru Nagamatsu and Kitsuki City officials gave a lecture on the history and attractions of Kitsuki City.
After the lecture, a question-and-answer session and group discussions were held to deepen participants' understanding of Kitsuki City's attractions in preparation for their group presentations.

In the third session of the program, the students compared their hometowns with Kitsuki City and made presentations on the attractiveness of Kitsuki City and their suggestions on issues.
As proposals that only students from diverse regions could make, they proposed "activities to promote the attractiveness of Kitsuki City using SNS," "creating a platform to introduce people who are active in Kitsuki City," "planning a tour of Kitsuki City for university students," "planning an event combining a marathon with local products," and "providing a souvenir of Kitsuki City that can be experienced only in Kitsuki City. The participating students made a number of attractive and diverse proposals.

The students who participated in the workshop commented that they felt comfortable in the atmosphere where they could talk freely with each other.
I was able to learn about the charms of the region that I did not know about through this workshop.
I felt nostalgia when I looked up my hometown for the first time in a long time.
I was able to compare my hometown and Kitsuki and find out the charms of both.
