Date and time
November 6, 2020, 15:00-17:00
Method of the event
The book review competition will be held online via Zoom.
Number of participants
Presenters (Butlers) 15
A total of 15 presenters (butlers) from five universities gathered for this tournament, which consisted of four preliminary rounds.
Kodama Ryota, a fourth-year student in Faculty of Social Policy and Administration, participated in both the preliminary round and the final round with his presentation "The Last Flight of Sky Hope: A Mystery Novel for Three People" (written by SCRAP).
Despite an incident in the preliminary round in which he exceeded his five-minute time limit, he made full use of Zoom's screen-sharing function and gave an impassioned speech introducing his book.
In the final round, where the contestants wanted to convey the appeal of the books they could not talk about in the preliminary round, they fully conveyed the appeal of the unique mystery novels that they enjoyed with their families during the period of self-restraint, "read by three," and many questions were asked during the discussion time after the presentation time.
At the end of the presentation, all the presenters and spectators voted on which book they wanted to read using the Zoom voting function, and the winner was "Sky Hope: The Last Flight of the Three" introduced by Mr. Kodama.
The "BiblioBattle 'on its own' University Battle" was held as a special slot of the "University BiblioBattle Online Competition 2020," replacing the "National University BiblioBattle 2020," which was cancelled due to the lack of face-to-face meetings. Kodama won the right to participate in the semi-finals of the "University BiblioBattle Online Competition 2020.
The semi-finals of the "University BiblioBattle Online Competition 2020" will be broadcast on Zoom/YouTube Live on Saturday, December 19, and can be viewed below.
