Kana Ikeuchi of the Faculty of Intercultural Communication won first place in the Wushu Taijiquan competition (adult women's women's long fist) at the 77th National Athletic Meet Tochigi 2022 held in Tochigi Prefecture on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Ikeuchi achieved a brilliant score of 8.850 points in a field of strong competitors from all over the country.
Wushu taijiquan is a sport based on Chinese martial arts, which originated in China. There are two types of taijiquan competitions: a competitive competition in which contestants fight against their opponents to determine who wins, and a demonstration competition in which contestants demonstrate their jumping ability, technical accuracy, and expressive ability using a scoring system based on a perfect score of 10 points. Ms. Ikeuchi participated in the women's choken event and demonstrated her skills.
